2010 75th Anniversary Activities

2010 marked the 75th anniversary of many New Deal programs that were created in 1935, two years after the beginning of Roosevelt’s New Deal. Most of these significant programs, or their legacies, are still with us today. They include the Works Progress Administration (WPA), Rural Electrification Administration (REA), Social Security Administration (SSA), National Labor Relations Act, Resettlement Administration/Farm Security Administration (FSA), and the National Youth Administration (NYA).

Our organization is sponsoring and encouraging commemorative events nationwide with the hope that we can all learn more about how those programs provide important lessons in forming public policy today.
