New Deal Art and Architecture in New Mexico.

The New Mexico Chapter of the NNDPA has spent $400,000 for conservation, restoration and/or preservation of the New Deal public art at many of these sites. To date, this work has been done on 135 pieces in the following towns based on their condition:
Alamogordo, Albuquerque, Bandelier, Clayton, El Rito, Ft. Stanton, Gallup, Las Cruces, Las Vegas, Lordsburg, Los Lunas, Melrose, Portales, Raton, Roswell, Santa Fe, Socoro and Taos. Funding was approved in our last NM legistlative session to restore two murals in Silver City and finish a project in Las Cruces at the university.
